3D-shaped sipes

Geolandar A/T G015 265/70 R16 employs uniquely designed 3-D sipes. The sipes, constructed in a three-tier pyramid, can override the breaking down of the tread block. This provides exceptional rigidity on dry surfaces as well as outstanding edge effects when wet surfaces.

Geolandar A/T G015 Tread Profile

Yokohama has improved the road contact properties of the shoulder grooves and lug grooves. This makes for a superior adhesion during off-road driving. The design of the entire grounded portion of the tread enhances wear resistance.

4 Deep Main Grooves

Water drainage has been dramatically improved by the four straight and wide grooves. They offer excellent mobility and anti-aquaplaning characteristics on wet surfaces.

Optimized Lug Groove

The lug grooves in Geolandar G015 265/70 R16 are smaller as they approach the middle section, and then gradually increase in width as they reach the grounded section of the shoulder. This improves the performance of tyres on off-road surfaces, resulting in better grip.

Tread Compound Technology

Compound used in Geolandar A/T G015 265/70 R16 is exclusively prepared. It is highly wear resistant and resistant to temperature variations in extreme weather conditions.

1) Triple Polimer 2) Orange Oil 3) Silica

A: The compound is a composed of three types of polymer with relevant functions. All the compound capabilities have been improved. Such as resistance to cuts and chipping, flexibility in low temperatures and wear resistance.
B: Blending in Orange Oil made it possible to have a flexible compound at the micro level. This enhances tracking performance over tiny undulations in the road surface as well as improving grip strength on wet and dry roads.
C: Silica, which improves performance especially in the wet, it is critical that particles inside the compound are spread evenly. Hence silica is dispersed through Yokohama’s unique compounding technology.

New Pitch Variation

Geolandar A/T G015 265/70 R16 employs pitch sequence of differing size instead of having uniform block pitch in a circumferential direction. And the frequency of this pitch is dispersed which helps in reducing pattern noise. Apart from the noise it also reduces the burden on the block, which contributes to a reduction in uneven & irregular wear.
