In the mid-50’s a radial casing structure and a textile belt were introduced in tyres. The increased stability brought by the belt prevented any unwanted tyre deformation in all conditions. The adherence was greatly increased and the smooth rolling allowed tread wear to be reduced by more than one half in comparison to a cross-ply tyre. Moreover, the use of the belt favoured the design of new profiles and tread patterns providing greater grip. Patented in 1951 and regularly put on the market in the mid ‘50s the Pirelli CINTURATOTM has kept the classic tread pattern “367” that made it famous throughout the world for over a decade: in 1966 this pattern was codified with the acronyms CF67/CA67. This name came from the 67 manufacturing licences issued by Pirelli to the most important tyre manufacturers in 25 countries. CA67TM was the first textile radial tyre whose speed code was SR, up to 180 Kmh. Its tread pattern was made of ribbed elements separated by four longitudinal grooves “a greca”, very cut shoulder and wide siping. The tread compound was very resistant to high temperatures and to tearing. In the mid‘60s, Pirelli CINTURATOTM was the reference tyre for the greater part of the automotive industry in the world.

ASTON MARTIN CUSTOM TYRES
The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 was equipped with AMS-homologated 20” P ZERO™, while in 2015, the Aston Martin Vanquish also mounted Pirelli P ZERO™ on 20” wheels. November 2017: an exclusive lap of the track by young Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen, during which Aston Martin’s Dynamics Chief Engineer, Matt Becker, outlines the distinctive features of a camouflaged version of the new 2018 Vantage. The video immediately went viral, setting just the right tone prior to the official presentation of the new British sportscar. Thanks to the combined efforts of Pirelli and Aston Martin technicians and engineers, the new 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish is equipped with new and exclusive Pirelli P ZEROs™.
BENTLEY CUSTOM TYRES
Winter Sottozero™ II. During this time, Pirelli also supplied the P ZERO™ Rosso for the Continental Flying Spur. Fast forward to 2015 and the launch of Bentley’s new Bentayga: the British manufacturer’s first SUV, and the first Bentley built for off-roading.
In order to rise to the new challenges posed by use on a range of challenging surfaces, Pirelli and Bentley jointly developed P ZERO™ and a Scorpion Verde All Season for the newborn Bentley. Alongside the history of factory cars is Bentley’s competition heritage, particularly in connection to the GT Series, such as the Continental GT3 which, for years, has been one of the most popular vehicles in the Blancpain GT Series endurance races.
In 2014, the GT3 gave rise to the GT3-R, a special street version of which only 300 units were produced, fitted with Pirelli tyres.
FERRARI CUSTOM TYRES

It is a story that dates back to the very birth of Ferrari, seventy years ago. Even earlier in fact. The collaboration between Ferrari and Pirelli actually began before the Maranello car manufacturer was founded: the Alfa Romeos racing with Stella Bianca tyres in the 1920s-30s clocked up wins and they were actually “Scuderia Ferrari” branded.
