Armstrong BLU-TRAC PC2 165/70 R14

The Armstrong BLU-TRAC PC2 165/70 R14 is a passenger tyre developed for compact hatchbacks, small sedans and family cars approved for this tyre size. Its asymmetric tread pattern is intended to balance everyday road grip, wet-surface drainage, ride comfort and predictable handling.

Longitudinal tread grooves combine with lateral water channels to help move water away from the contact area. Multiple sipes and gripping edges provide additional road contact points, supporting braking and steering control on wet or slick surfaces.

The asymmetric tread uses separate inner and outer functions. The inner portion supports water evacuation, while the reinforced outer shoulder helps maintain stability during turns, lane changes and normal highway manoeuvres.

Comfort-Oriented 14-Inch Fitment

The 70-profile sidewall provides additional cushioning compared with lower-profile 14-inch alternatives. It helps absorb broken surfaces, expansion joints and everyday road impacts, making this size suitable for drivers who place a strong emphasis on ride comfort.

The combination of a 165 mm tread width and taller sidewall supports manageable steering, predictable road behaviour and a composed ride for regular city and intercity use. Correct tyre pressure is especially important for maintaining stability and preventing shoulder wear.

The 165/70 R14 size should only be installed on vehicles specifically approved for this tyre specification and where the required load index and speed rating are met.

BLU-TRAC PC2 Technology

Armstrong BLU-TRAC PC2 Tread Technology

Asymmetric passenger tread. The BLU-TRAC PC2 uses different tread structures across its inner and outer sections. The inner area supports water drainage and wet-road traction, while the more rigid outer area supports steering response, cornering stability and controlled road contact.

Wet-road drainage channels. Longitudinal grooves and connected lateral channels provide pathways for water to move away from the tyre's contact area, helping the tread maintain more consistent contact with wet road surfaces and reducing the likelihood of aquaplaning.

Reinforced shoulder ribs. Larger and more stable outer shoulder elements support the tyre under cornering loads, helping the vehicle remain predictable during turns, lane changes and normal highway manoeuvres.

Multiple sipes and gripping edges. Fine cuts and tread edges create additional contact points between the rubber and the road. These support traction and braking control, particularly when the surface is wet, dusty or slick.

Stable road contact. The tread blocks are arranged to support a consistent contact footprint during normal driving. This contributes to predictable steering response, balanced handling and more uniform wear when the tyre is correctly maintained.

Road-focused radial construction. The radial construction is intended for passenger-vehicle use, combining everyday ride comfort with the structural stability required for city roads, regular highway travel and normal family-car operation.

Controlled road noise. The road-oriented tread arrangement is designed to manage the sound created as individual tread blocks meet the road. Actual cabin noise will also depend on road texture, vehicle insulation, tyre pressure, wear condition and driving speed.

Wear management. The asymmetric, non-directional layout can support regular front-to-rear and cross-rotation schedules where the vehicle configuration permits. Correct inflation, wheel alignment, suspension condition and scheduled rotation remain essential for achieving even wear.

Tread-wear indicators. Moulded tread-wear indicator bars provide a visible reference for checking when the tread is approaching its replacement point. Tyres should also be inspected for cracking, cuts, bulges, puncture damage and irregular wear.

Understanding Tyre Size 165/70 R14 / How to Read Tyre Size

Vehicles with 165/70 R14 Tyre Size

What does 165/70 R14 mean?

165/70 R14 is the tyre size.

165 is the maximum width of the tyre in milimetres(mm). When the vehicle is fully loaded its width can expand maximum upto 165 milimetres(mm).

70 is the ratio among width and height of the tyre from its rim. it means that the height of the tyre is precisely 70% of the 165mm. Lower ratio improves road grip, but it reduces comfort to some extent.

R – refers to the method the tyre is produced. The letter “R” is found on all modern car tyres. It indicates the radial structure of tyre cosntructed with steel wires.

14 represents the diameter of the rim. It is a measurement in inches(“). This number should be rememberd as it is the measurement of the rims. It has to match exactly to what is mentioned in the car manual.

This particular tyre is with the size of 165/70 R14.
