The Armstrong TRU-TRAC HT II 265/60 R18 is a road-focused highway-terrain tyre developed for SUVs, pickups and 4x4 vehicles approved for this tyre size. Its symmetric tread design is engineered to balance highway stability, wet-road water evacuation, controlled road noise and dependable everyday handling.

Wide circumferential grooves provide continuous channels for water to move away from the road-contact area. Lateral grooves connect these channels to the tread edges, helping evacuate water and reduce accumulation beneath the tyre during wet-road driving.

Wavy sipes create multiple gripping edges across the tread, supporting traction, braking and steering control on wet surfaces. Their arrangement also helps maintain stable tread-block behaviour when the tyre is carrying the substantial loads associated with larger road-going vehicles.

Controlled 18-Inch Highway Performance

The 265 mm tread width creates a broad contact area for braking, cornering and straight-line road stability. Its 60-profile sidewall provides a more direct steering character than the 265/65 R17 alternative while retaining useful cushioning for damaged roads and everyday driving.

The 265/60 R18 and 265/65 R17 sizes have almost identical calculated overall diameters. The main difference is that the 18-inch version uses a larger wheel and a shorter sidewall, producing a slightly firmer and more responsive road feel.

A heavy-duty casing reinforces the tyre and supports handling under highway speeds and vehicle loads. The symmetric tread pattern is designed to promote stable road behaviour and controlled tread noise during longer journeys.

The 265/60 R18 size should only be installed where approved by the vehicle manufacturer and where the tyre's load index, speed rating, rim width, overall diameter and suspension-clearance requirements are fully satisfied.

TRU-TRAC HT II Technology

Armstrong TRU-TRAC HT II Tread Technology

Highway-terrain tread design. The TRU-TRAC HT II is developed for SUVs, pickups and 4x4 vehicles primarily driven on paved roads. Its tread prioritises highway stability, road comfort, wet-surface control and predictable everyday handling.

Unique symmetric tread pattern. The tread uses a balanced layout across its full width to support stable road contact, predictable steering and controlled wear. The symmetric arrangement also allows flexible tyre rotation where the vehicle configuration permits.

Heavy-duty casing. The reinforced casing supports the tyre under vehicle weight, highway speeds and substantial driving loads. It contributes to tread stability, steering control and dependable road handling.

Wide circumferential grooves. Longitudinal grooves provide continuous pathways for water to move away from the tyre's contact area, helping reduce water accumulation beneath the tread.

Connected lateral grooves. Lateral channels move water from the central tread area towards the tyre's outer edges, supporting drainage and road contact during wet conditions.

Wavy tread sipes. Wave-shaped sipes create multiple gripping edges that support wet-road traction, braking and steering control.

Stable tread blocks under load. The tread and siping arrangement helps the blocks maintain their shape during braking, cornering and driving under the loads associated with larger vehicles.

Controlled rolling resistance. The wavy-sipe structure is designed to support stable block movement and reduce unnecessary tread deformation as the tyre rolls.

Noise-conscious tread layout. The symmetric tread arrangement is designed to control the sound generated as the tread meets the road, supporting a quieter and more comfortable highway-driving experience.

Stable road-contact footprint. The broad tread and reinforced construction support predictable contact during acceleration, braking, cornering and straight-line travel.

Road-focused radial construction. The radial structure is suited to SUVs, pickups and 4x4 vehicles used primarily for city, intercity and highway driving.

Tread-wear indicators. Moulded tread-wear bars provide a visible reference as the tread approaches its replacement limit. Tyres should also be inspected for cracking, cuts, bulges, punctures and irregular wear.

Understanding Tyre Size 265/60 R18 / How to Read Tyre Size

Vehicles with 265/60 R18 Tyre Size

What does 265/60 R18 mean?

265/60 R18 is the tyre size.

265 is the maximum width of the tyre in milimetres(mm). When the vehicle is fully loaded its width can expand maximum upto 265 milimetres(mm).

60 is the ratio among width and height of the tyre from its rim. it means that the height of the tyre is precisely 60% of the 265mm. Lower ratio improves road grip, but it reduces comfort to some extent.

R – refers to the method the tyre is produced. The letter “R” is found on all modern car tyres. It indicates the radial structure of tyre cosntructed with steel wires.

18 represents the diameter of the rim. It is a measurement in inches(“). This number should be rememberd as it is the measurement of the rims. It has to match exactly to what is mentioned in the car manual.

This particular tyre is with the size of 265/60 R18.
